Completely out of the blue, a week ago today I had a dream about riding a motorbike having never really thought hard about riding before. I then looked into taking my CBT, which is “Compulsory Basic Training”, a 1 day training course the government brought in in the 1990’s to cut the amount of accidents on the road. Before the CBT came along you needed no training at all to get on a basic motorbike/moped and get yourself squished on the road!

So, fast-forward to Thursday and I’m taking my CBT and “Assured Rider Training” in Southampton. I must say that whilst the training was very good and my instructor (Karl) was very professional… I hated it! It had nothing to do with the school itself, like I said, they couldn’t have been better, I’m just far too critical as a person on myself and I hate getting things wrong under observation. However, I remember that I completely hated doing my driving lessons and now I drive everyday and still enjoy it. I came home Thursday night thinking “Nope, bikes just aren’t for me”, but by the end of the evening I found myself shopping around for a Honda CG 125, and now am really excited about getting my first bike.

My brother-in-law has worked in the games industry as an artist for ages, but it turns out he been secretly writing his first proper game for the last few weeks.

It’s called “Twister”, idea being you guide a whirlwind around a town simply trashing as much of it as possible. Special bonus points are given for wrecking the right type of item and the right time.

BarrieJarman.co.uk has been down for a while since some bastard decided to use my domain for spam, waking up to find 4000 bounced email addresses in my business email account was a bit of a shock, but it was also the kick up the arse I needed to set up my domain as a personal site, whereas before it was pointing to some very old clients of mine from before I set up my business earlier this year.

I spent the best part of 2 hours last night flicking through WordPress skins before finding a skin I liked and then editing the header image for an old photo I took on a mobile phone.
